How to Add & Edit a SmartReq™

SmartReqs™ is like a job req, only smarter. They are the means to screen your applicants against the predictive model that was created from your existing employee data. To create and edit your SmartReqs™ follow these steps.

Add a new SmartReq™

  1. Sign in at
  2. Click on the "Hire" tab in the top navigation bar.
  3. Click the " + New SmartReq™" button in the upper right corner of the screen as shown below:
  4. Fill out the SmartReq™ details on each tab. The red star indicates a required field.
  5. Click "Save." See details below in SmartReq™  Field Detail to learn about each of the different fields in a SmartReq™.
  6. Click on the “SetUp” tab.
  7. On the leg, click on "Attributes"
  8. Click "+ Group" and follow instructions 
  9. Click on the "+"  to add desired attributes for the giving position
  10. On the left, click on “Screening Plan”
  11. On the right side of the screen, select “+ Step.”
  12. Give a name to the step and a step number.
  13.  Click on the plus (+) icon to the right on the newly created screening step. In this case, the screening step is named Assessments.

  14. Fill out the Activity Name, Measurement Type, Step Number, Activity Weight, and Estimated Time.  In this case, the Measurement Type is Personal Assessment.
  15. Click on “Save.”
  16. Click on the blue “+ Assessment” icon in the bottom right of the screen.
  17. Click the blue “Add” icon next to the Personal Interest, Personal Values, Personality, and Competencies assessments.
  18. Click “Done.” and then click "Save"

Edit a SmartReq™

  1. Sign in at
  2. Click on the "Hire" tab in the top navigation bar.
  3. Click the "SmartReq™" that you would like to update. Once you’ve clicked, you’ll see the applicants within that SmartReq™ if you have already invited applicants
  4. Click on the "Setup" tab next to the "Applicants" tab
  5. In the Setup tab, on the left of the screen, you’ll see that you are in the Details tab. This allows you to review the information in your SmartReq™. If you would like to edit the information, click the edit button.
  6. This will open the SmartReq™ details page where you can make changes to each of the fields. Note that any changes made to the scoring criteria will automatically update the candidate scores. 

SmartReq™ Field Details

    • Title: The job title (seen by applicants)
    • Occupation Category: The high-level occupation this job falls into. Used for generating the predictive scores.
    • Occupation: The occupation of this job. Please select the closest occupation. If you do not see an occupation that represents this job, please contact Journeyfront and we can add additional occupations.
    • Authority Level: How much authority does a person have in this position. Select from the drop-down list.
    • Type: The employment type (Full Time, Part Time, Contract, or Internship).
    • Description: A brief job description. This will be seen by applicants.
    • Job Location: The city where the job will be located. If there are multiple locations for this job, you can add "Multiple" as the City.
    • Job Country: The country where the job will be located.
    • Require a Resume from the Applicants: Click this box if you want applicants to be required to upload a resume.
    • Require a LinkedIn Profile: Click this box if you want applicants to be required to include a link to their LinkedIn profile.
